VOICE THREAD VS. VOXOPOP
Now,
we are in the twenty-first century, and as teachers, we do not need to use the
same tools that old teachers used in the past. We need to innovate day by day. Technology
is an important tool to use in an EFL classroom because it is easy to use and
the most important is that there are a variety of programs to take advantage
of. In our classroom, we have tried some of them, such us: Voice thread and
Voxopop.
According
to my experience, I must admit that I had some problems using those web applications,
but at the same time I understood that it was something normal because both of
them are free, so they do not have an obligation with you.
However,
the question is: Which program do I prefer, Voice thread or Voxopop?
VoiceThread
is an application that allows you to place collections of media like images,
videos, documents, and presentations at the center of an asynchronous
conversation. VoiceThread allows people to have conversations and to make comments
using any mix of text, a microphone, a web cam, a telephone, or uploaded audio file,
meanwhile in Voxopop you just can record audio messages to express your ideas or
ask questions and then people can record their own messages to respond to you.
In
my opinion, I really prefer to use Voice thread because it is more interactive.
You can make more things there, and for educational purposes, it can be more
attractive for your students. I enjoyed using these programs in the class
because I could learn something new to teach my future students…

I prefer to use voicethread. It is a lot more easy for me!
ResponderEliminarI think that although we are able to use advanced tools when it comes to teaching, we face bigger problems than deciding how one is going to do to teach. In nowadays we have bigger problems that technology can not solve.
Having a few gangmembers in the classroom as students... is just one of them!

Eliminarwhat about if you use videos that have moral messages?. Technology won´t solve it but at least will touch minds and hearts. And I know that you can get in hot water by just showing this kind of material. Through technological devices you can send beautiful messages. it´s just a matter of seeing the whole panorama. ResponderEliminarbesides voicethread is easy to use, it gives us the chance to pick whether we want to type, record, or upload a video, something that makes learning a lot more interesting!!!!...
more options more ideas...
it's a matter of discoverying all the good uses technology gives us.
Hi Isabel, now I can tell you that both of them are really useful, it depends on the activity that you want to develop with your ss. Remember that we must get familiar with any kind of technological supplies if we want to reach our goal with the lesson, if we are not well prepared, is a fact that we will create a mess and our class will suffer the consequences...so, just keep an eye on the tech devices if we want to be "in" ....take care!!!
